About This Spot

There’s a comforting ease the moment you pull up to Corral Drive In, a longtime favorite nestled on the northern edge of Long Beach’s peninsula. It’s the kind of place where the pace slows down just enough to savor something familiar yet thoughtfully made—a classic hamburger joint with a warm, unpretentious vibe that invites you to sit back, whether in your car or at one of the outdoor picnic tables. The atmosphere feels like a shared secret among locals, a simple spot to gather around good food on a sunny afternoon or after a day at the nearby beach.

The western-themed charm of Corral Drive In is subtle and genuine, lending the space a laid-back energy without ever overwhelming the senses. There’s an easy camaraderie in the air, a place where burgers aren’t just a quick bite but a touchstone for moments—with friends, family, or those rare solo visits that still somehow feel social. It’s a welcoming pause in the day, amplified by the rustic surroundings and the gentle hum of everyday conversations blending with the Pacific breeze.

Corral’s menu weaves into this experience naturally—the kind of food that stands out not through flashy descriptions but by how it fits effortlessly into the local rhythm. Think juicy, no-frills burgers with playful twists like mushrooms, bacon, or a surprising hit of Canadian bacon that turns heads. The extras—golden tater tots, rosemary fries, and thick, creamy milkshakes—complete the picture, each bite carrying the quiet confidence of something made with care. For those with bigger appetites or a taste for indulgence, there’s the legendary Tsunami Burger, a shared feast that embodies the spirit of the place: generous, bold, and sure to be remembered.

Whether you’re dialing in an order to pick up and picnic by the ocean or settling into one of the outside tables on a fair-weather day, the food travels well and so does the feeling of genuine local hospitality. The helpful team here adds a friendly touch without fuss, making every visit feel as natural as your first. Corral Drive In holds onto the simplicity of old-school drive-in dining while quietly carving out a niche as a cherished spot for those who appreciate straightforward flavors and the joy of slow moments shared over a classic burger.

After reading reviews, we decided to try the Corral Drive In. It did not disappoint! I had the 1/4 lb bacon cheeseburger and my daughter had a chicken burger. We shared an order of tots. It was a bit expensive but really delicious! It looks like their prices have gone up but what hasn't. The tsunami burger sounds amazing but a bit spendy and huge. There is outside seating but the weather didn't cooperate for that so we ate in the car. We would definitely go back!

As my work week came to its end, I saw Corral Drive-In on the map and HAD to stop by for a burger. I love the classic feel of the atmosphere. Ended up going with the Canadian bacon cheeseburger and would've never thought of it in a burger. After my initial bite, I thought to myself "Now THIS is a burger!" Definitely worth the stop and would recommend! Thank you Corral Drive-In!! I look forward to my next burger on my next trip to Long Beach!

Great little hole in the wall hamburger joint. Lots of choices to make everyone happy. Decent prices. The rosemary fries are the best! Milkshakes are great as well. Friendly, helpful employees. Not a place to eat at unless weather is decent, as the only place to eat is outside. We usually take the food to go and go to the beach!

A Must-Visit Classic Drive-In! If you're looking for a taste of nostalgia and some seriously delicious food, The Corral Drive-In is the place to be! This old-school drive-in restaurant has all the charm of a bygone era, paired with incredible eats that will have you coming back for more. I had the Corral Burger, and let me tell you—it was everything a burger should be: juicy, flavorful, and piled high with fresh toppings. The fries were perfectly crispy, making them the ideal sidekick. But the real standout? The fresh-fried mushrooms—hot, crispy, and packed with flavor, they were absolutely addicting! And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I took a sip of my cookie dough shake—thick, creamy, and loaded with real cookie dough pieces. It was the perfect sweet treat to top off an already fantastic meal. Between the great food, classic drive-in atmosphere, and friendly service, The Corral Drive-In is an absolute gem. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by—you won’t regret it!

The Corral Drive In is a staple on the north end of the peninsula. It is Western themed and serves solid burgers and shakes. Phone in your order ahead, then pick it up and head to your destination. Their burgers travel well. The Corral's Tsunami Burger is a feat of culinary engineering, enjoyed by all, and very popular when we have a party. It sports 5lbs of beef on a super sized 18inch bun which they will tell you feeds 8, but our experience is that it is closer to 12.

Tasty classic American burgers and fries! The 1/4 burger was a great size, fresh, and tasted great. The crinkle fries were tasty and the right amount of crispiness. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, definitely worth adding. You order inside a small lobby and pickup outside. There are a few picnic tables outside (half covered by a tent) and a single port-a-potty. There is no inside seating or bathroom. Plenty of free parking. Primarily a take out/eat in your car situation in the winter months. Love the large ketchup packets they include (that you can dip into). I was told the fry sauce was mostly mayo. Visited Jan 2024 and their sign shows closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Hands down an amazing experience. We drove 6 hours to revisit a childhood experience. We (me & my brothers) wanted to give an experience to our children. It did NOT disappoint! The burger was everything I remembered. The fries were super delicious and hot! They gave us plenty of condiments.. . The owners even gave our party complimental shirts! It was worth the drive, wait and money!!!
